They moved
from Mersham in Kent
with their family to Ramsden
Crays, near Billericay, sometime around 1835.
Billericay is approximately 25 miles east of London.

George
Amos married Hannah Wiffen in 1841 Ramsden Crays, and had William, Thomas, George, Emma, James, John, Richard and
Hannah. Hannah Wiffen came from Stock, near
Chelmsford and was the daughter of John Wiffen.

Emma, was a Domestic Servant with George Lloyd in his shop,
High Street, Great Burstead in 1871. In 1875 she had a son, Edward John,
and it is not known who the father was. By 1881 she was
living at 52 Westbourne Park Villas again as a domestic
Servant. She married George Harrison on 4 December 1881 in
Ramsden Crays and subsequently brought up a family in
Shoreditch.

Edward John, her son was born on the
29 October 1875 in Ramsden Crays and was brought up by his
grandparents. In 1881 they
were living in Crays Common with
other members of George and Hannah's
family - John, Richard
and Hannah E.
By 1891 he was on his own with his
Grandfather, but still in Ramsden
Crays. |
James Amos married Jessie Parker 18 May 1880 in the City of
London. As a newly married couple in 1881 they lived in 18
Denmark Terrace, East Ham, and by 1891 and though to 1901
they were living at 80 Priory Road, East Ham.

Edward John Amos married Lily Louisa Rawlinson
in Tottenham,
in October 1901.
They had 3 daughters and 2 sons.
Various
branches of the family moved from Tottenham to Bush Hill Park, Middlesex and to
Buckhurst Hill, Essex.
