Ancestress
An
Ancestor or Ancestress is a person from whom one is descended.
An Uncle or a Great Aunt for example are not ancestors,
but a grandfather or a great grandmother is.

A
descendent is any child, grandchildren, great grandchildren
etc. of a particular person
Family
A
family is a group of people sharing the same surname,
and are all descended from one particular male or female
ancestor.

History
Family
history is a record of family events and activities through
the ages. It is not, although important, just a collection
of birth, marriage and death dates.

Tree
A
diagram showing male line(s) of descent. A family tree
does not show all of a person's ancestors -
this would be a Blood Descent diagram.
Genealogy
Is
the study of family history and family research.
Sibling
A
sibling means a brother or sister.
Transcript
A
copy of a document made by typing or handwriting.
It should include
any errors made on the original.
A photocopy is not a
transcript.
